Sessions can be attended in real time or catch up, including bespoke CV feedback and support on where and how to find job opportunities.

Who else has done Stand Out?

We have supported over 500 young people through our employment programmes over the past four years alone, so we know it works!

- 90% completed the programme (because they loved it!)

- 77% gained a job or were in education or training within six months of completing the programme (yay!)

- 97% told us the programme increased their confidence, networks and skills.

What you'll do

The programme is structured with a 4 week block of sessions to support your job hunt, plus up to 12 months of personalised support from a mentor with experience of the world of work.

The sessions that we cover on the programme are wide-ranging and are designed to build your skill set, offer opportunities to grow your current understanding and develop your network. Workshops and sessions focus on topics such as: how to create a CV that stands out, how to build and stay resilient when job hunting, how to use LinkedIn to build your online brand, basic project management skills, and much more.

Alongside the session and workshops, we provide opportunities to connect with industry experts and professionals from a wide range of different sectors. We host careers panels so you can learn about the different jobs available and how to stand out in a crowded recruitment process.

Grow your network

Stand Out will match you with a mentor during the first month of the programme, who you’ll meet via video/phone call for one hour, once a month, for a year. Your mentor will provide you with personalised advice and support, helping you develop the skills, confidence, knowledge and networks you need to achieve your goals.

The skills and confidence you will gain will help you in interviews but also in everyday life, when talking to professionals, teachers, parents - even friends. Whatever guidance you need, your mentor has years of experience and expertise they can share.

We know from the mentees we have worked with in the past that as a result of the programme, you will be:

  • More confident
  • Better able to communicate with others
  • More aware of your personal skills and what you can do to improve these
  • More comfortable meeting different professionals
  • More aware of the career options available to you
  • Above all, you will have developed an important relationship that could transform your future.
